Pole Tents ~ A Most Classic Design
The most classic tent design, a pole tent is a tension structure. The fabric stretched between the poles gives the tent its unique shape. To keep the proper tension, a pole tent must be staked at regular intervals around the perimeter; hence this type of tent is ideal for an open lawn. There are three different types of pole tents, these are: the Traditional (pole tent with straight edged peaks), the Century (pole tent with dramatic, cantanary curved peaks), and the Sailcloth (also with curved lines, but made with a lightweight, more transparent, fabric). Pole tents are available in many different shapes (rectangular, square, round, oval, t-shaped, etc.).
